Objectives This course has been designed to identify specifically the different kinds of termination of employment and dismissal cases. Participants will be informed of the proper procedures that need to be adopted in dealing with different situations. Specific cases dealt with by the Industrial Court identifying the pitfalls will be discussed.

Trainer M. Vivekanandan is a Special Function Adviser with Malaysian Employers Federation. He has extensive experience representing employers in Industrial and Labour Court for the past 15 years. Prior to his attachment to the Malaysian Employers Federation, he had served the Department of Labour, the Department of Industrial Relations (H.Q) holding various positions. He was involved in the administration and enforcement of labour laws for 25 years.Ms. Saraswathi is a Consultant in the Industrial Relations Department with Malaysian Employers Federation. She is a lawyer by profession who graduated from University of Northumbria at Newcastle,United Kingdom and obtained her Certificate in Legal Practice. Prior to joining MEF she has worked in an established Legal Firm in Kuala Lumpur as an Advocate and Solicitor in the Industrial Relations Department. She currently specializes in handling Industrial and Labour Court Trials at the Industrial Court and Labour Office representing member Companies. She also provides advisory and consultancy work to member Companies of MEF pertaining to Employment matters.
